Ponderings from Matthew 1
It's hard for us to think about Christmas in July! But, the Lord really put it on my heart last Christmas to be more mindful of the coming and the birth of Christ all the time, not just in December.
Let's take a look at some verses in Matthew that tell us about Jesus' birth. The beginning of chapter 1 starts out with the genealogy of Jesus beginning from Abraham and going Joseph (verses 2-16). We then learn about Mary's pregnancy and Joseph's decision to take Mary as his wife even though he first was going to break their betrothal. (verses 16-21)
Then, in verses 23 and following, we are told this was all done to fulfill the Lord's message through the prophet Isaiah.
Take a few minutes today to go back and read those verses in Isaiah (7:14, 8:8, 10) and be amazed once again at the birth of Jesus. Prophesied years before and fulfilled with His birth. Be amazed at His coming...and be anticipating His return!
"We're also kicking off a Christmas in July sale today! Through July 31, all stamp sets in our Christmas and Winter categories are 25% off. No code needed! It's the perfect time to get a jump start on those holiday projects and cards!"
